Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp. reported a third-quarter profit of $20 million, its best quarterly performance since it returned to profitability nearly two years ago. A year ago, Fox posted profit of $5.6 million. The increase was realized despite a $10.7-million provision for income tax, compared to $991,000 a year earlier, Fox said. The company said continued worldwide theatrical success of its movies, “Aliens” and “The Fly,” were major factors in its higher profits.
