State Senate OKs 65-M.P.H. Bill

SACRAMENTO —
A bill increasing the speed limit to 65 m.p.h. on 1,200 miles of rural highways neared final passage today as the Senate voted for it 34 to 0. The measure goes back to the Assembly for action on technical amendments. The Assembly voted for it 58 to 7 on April 9. Gov. George Deukmejian has said he will sign it.
