Help for Exporters

Share

The California Department of Food and Agriculture and the State World Trade Commission are bringing their export trade seminar to the Southland aboard the Queen Mary on Tuesday.

The daylong session, which begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., will cover current trade negotiations, what California growers can do to compete in world markets and what the state is doing to help promote agricultural exports, according to Ray Borton, a senior economist with the department.

Other speakers will cover marketing strategies that have worked for a variety of private growers--including meat producers, seed companies and almond and citrus farmers, Borton said.

Registration, including lunch aboard ship, is $55, payable at the door, Borton added. “Everyone is welcome,” he said.
