Lomita Rejects Higher Dog fee

Share

The City Council has vetoed a move to raise the license fee for dogs, but agreed to consider license fees for cats and a levy against residents who do not pay animal license fees on time.

The proposed ordinance, which would impose a 50% penalty on those who are 30 days late in getting the licenses, will be discussed at a public hearing June 1. New residents would have 60 days in which to license their pets.

Lomita charges $20 to license dogs, $10 if they are neutered.
