“La Sylphide.” Kultur. $59.95. This 1971 studio-made dance film tells the familiar story of a dainty forest spirit who loves a Scottish farmer. However, don’t expect the classic Bournonville ballet (music by Lovenskjold) that has long survived in the repertory of the Royal Danish Ballet--for this is a reconstruction by Pierre Lacotte of the original, historic 1832 Filippo Taglioni version (music by Schneitzhoeffer). In Lacotte’s atmospheric Paris Opera Ballet production, the stylish dancing by Ghislaine Thesmar and Michel Denard remains treasurable despite the bizarre camera placements and a worn, roughly re-spliced film print.
