Former hostages and families of four men still held prisoner in Lebanon prayed for the captives’ release and began circulating petitions seeking help from a Shia leader during ceremonies at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove. “The word is hope,” the Rev. Robert Schuller told the 300 people who gathered for a service in which former hostages David Jacobsen and the Rev. Benjamin Weir read the names of men still held by guerrillas. Another freed hostage, the Rev. Lawrence Jenco, sent a videotaped message.
