LSU Leading, 6-2, When Rain Halts Play
Louisiana State held a 6-2 lead over Oklahoma State in a winners’ bracket game of the College World Series Monday night when rain suspended play. The game is scheduled to resume this afternoon.
The first of two storms halted the game for 90 minutes after seventh-ranked LSU (48-17) took a 2-0 lead after two innings on a run-scoring single by Craig Faulkner and a run-scoring double by Rob Hartwig.
Third-ranked Oklahoma State (57-11) tied the score in the third on an RBI single by Ray Ortiz and Jim Ifland’s sacrifice fly.
LSU regained the lead in the third on Pete Bush’s two-run double and RBI singles by Richie Vasquez and Terry Belle.
