A mother and her two small children were killed and two other people were critically injured when their car and a tow truck collided at high speed. Police said the southbound tow truck crashed into the westbound automobile at Slauson and Normandie avenues. They said the car, driven by the mother with the two children as passengers, was hurled nearly 150 feet and all three were dead when rescuers arrived. The driver of the tow truck and a woman believed to have been riding with him were in critical condition at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Inglewood. Cause of the accident was under investigation. Identities of the victims were not released immediately.
