Arcadia : Reappointment Rejected

Share

The City Council has rejected the reappointment to the Planning Commission of Gary Kovacic, who expressed concern about mini-malls in the city after the council approved one at the southeast corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue. Council members Roger Chandler, Robert Harbicht and Charles Gilb voted against the reappointment and Dennis Lojeski and Mary Young voted in favor.

The council also is scheduled to vote next week on an ordinance that would reduce the size of the Planning Commission from seven members to five. However, the rejection of Kovacic is not related to the possible reduction because Commissioner Tom Galinski has resigned and John Fee, cannot be reappointed because he has already served two terms.
