Fullerton : Professor Reelected as Academic Senate Head

Share

Political science professor Julian F.S. Foster will again be chairman of the Academic Senate at Cal State Fullerton for 1987-88, making him the first faculty member to serve two consecutive terms in that office.

Reelected this spring by the Academic Senate, Foster had already made university history by being the first professor ever to serve more than once as chair of the faculty governing board. Foster’s first term as chair was in 1966-67.

Foster has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from New College of Oxford University, England, and his doctorate is from UCLA. A Santa Ana resident, he joined the university faculty in 1963 and served as political science department chair from 1978-84.

Three at-large executive committee seats on the faculty governing body will be held by theater professor Sallie Mitchell, teacher education professor Eugene L. McGarry and mathematics professor Vyron M. Klassen.

Education professor Carol P. Barnes is the campus representative from the California State University Statewide Academic Senate.
