Pittsburgh Is Popular for Televised Games

The University of Pittsburgh may have three games shown on regional television this season and will play seven of its 11 games at home.

The televised games, scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m., are Sept. 26 at West Virginia, Oct. 24 at Navy and Oct. 31 against Syracuse. All of the teams, plus Notre Dame, Army, Boston College, Rutgers and Temple, belong to a new nine-team college football television syndication package formed by Jefferson-Pilot Teleproductions.

Pitt, which plays only four road games this season, has scheduled three of its seven home games on Saturday nights. The Panthers will play Temple on Sept. 19 and Boston College on Oct. 3, both at 7 p.m., and Penn State on Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Three Pitt home games are currently scheduled for 1:30 p.m. starts: Sept. 12, North Carolina State; Oct. 10, Notre Dame and Nov. 21, Kent State.
