Local News in Brief : Father Kills Himself After Daughters Fight

A Sun Valley man early Sunday committed suicide soon after one of his daughters stabbed another daughter in an argument over the use of narcotics, police said.

Harry Tannatt, 66, shot himself after his daughter Theresa, 25, stabbed and wounded her sister, Patricia, at their home in the 10700 block of Wixom Street around 4:10 a.m., said Lt. Richard Iddings of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Tannatt shot himself with a shotgun after the stabbing and was pronounced dead at the scene, Iddings said.

Theresa Tannatt, 25, was booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, and held at the Van Nuys jail on $7,000 bail, officials said.

Patricia Tannatt, 30, was treated for a stab wound at the scene and released, Iddings said. All three lived at the home with Tannatt’s wife, who was uninjured, he said.
