Joan Rivers being blackballed by the television industry? Sound ridiculous? Not to the comedian’s publicist and manager, who reports that Rivers was bounced from a possible guest shot on “Late Night With David Letterman”--which is produced by Carson Productions. Barry Sand, the show’s producer, insists that “Letterman” tried to squeeze Joan in but was “all booked up.” A possible June 12 date reportedly conflicted with a concert date. The show will be on on hiatus June 29 through July 6. Sand denies a claim that Rivers was booked for and then dropped from a June 26 show, saying that the former talk show host would be considered for future dates.
