A Florida woman was killed and 23 other people were injured when a tour bus from Los Angeles, three tractor-trailer rigs and an ice cream truck were involved in a massive, 12-vehicle tangle on a rain-shrouded highway near Pensacola, Fla. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the bus, his 11-year-old daughter and elderly passengers on a 21-day tour of the South suffered minor injuries in the collision, which began when the ice cream truck was rear-ended by a furniture van, which in turn was struck by a gasoline tanker, another truck and the bus. Bus driver Bill Wainford, of West-Tech Tours, said: “All I saw were brake lights. I told everybody on the bus, ‘I can’t stop! Hang on!’ ”
