Broad Brush, top-weighted at 126 pounds with Angel Cordero aboard, heads a small field of six today in the 53rd running of the $207,600 Massachusetts Handicap at Suffolk Downs.
Although a Grade II stakes event, New England’s oldest and richest race has attracted three Grade I horses in Broad Brush, defending champion Skip Trial and and 1986 runner-up Creme Fraiche.
The other three entrants are Waquoit, New England’s 1986 horse of the year; Suffolk-based Tour d’Or, and Entitled To, a New Jersey import.
