Both uniforms were different. So was the locale. But the script was the same.

Boston rookie Ellis Burks hit a two-run homer off New York’s Bob Tewksbury in the eighth inning Sunday, lifting the Red Sox to a 4-2 victory over the Yankees at Boston.

“I faced him in Triple-A a couple of months ago, and I hit him pretty well,” said Burks, who started the season at Pawtucket of the International League. “It was kind of the same situation as today. I hit a home run to win the game.”

Burks, a 22-year-old rookie called up April 29, connected one inning after Dwight Evans tied the game with a two-run homer.
