DWI Corp. said it had net earnings of $39,617 in its fiscal 1987 third quarter ended March 31, contrasted with a $200,740 loss in the same period a year ago. Revenues of $619,076 were up 26% from $491,085.
For the first nine months, the Mission Viejo-based industrial design and product development company lost $68,293, contrasted with a $434,087 loss for the first nine months of its fiscal 1986. Revenues for the period fell 10% to $1.6 million from $1.8 million.
The company said in a prepared statement that because it “still has limited capital and credit facility is at a maximum,” the company is seriously examining alternatives for rectifying capital needs.
Company President Art Ellsworth said these moves may include acquisitions or a merger.
“We’re actively looking (for something) compatible with our basic business,” he said, adding that DWI executives won’t know what steps they will take until the fourth-quarter results are in.
He also said he expects the company to break even this year. The last profitable year for the company was fiscal 1982
