A Sun Valley woman whose pit bull terrier bit two people pleaded guilty Friday to a misdemeanor charge of allowing a vicious animal to roam free and was ordered not to own a dog for three years.
Van Nuys Municipal Judge Alan Ellis also sentenced Judith Miller, 24, to perform 100 hours of community service. She agreed to allow city animal-control officers to inspect her home without notice to ensure enforcement of the ban on dog ownership.
The judge also ordered Miller to pay $3,900 in restitution to one victim who needed surgery as a result of the dog bite in November.
