A Pan Am jumbo jet bound for London safely aborted its takeoff when four of its tires blew out on the runway at Miami International Airport, officials said. While the jet was returning to the gate, 10 more tires blew, leaving the plane with only two good tires, said airport spokeswoman Amalia Fernandez. No injuries were reported aboard Pan American World Airways Flight 98, and the jet was able to taxi back to the terminal under its own power, she said. A Miami Fire Department official said an emergency rescue crew was dispatched but was not needed.
