Most Stores Open, Some Offices Shut for Holiday Friday

The Independence Day holiday will be observed Friday by the federal government and some Orange County city halls, but county and state offices and courts will be open.

Most major department stores in the county will be open all weekend, although some will curtail their hours on Friday and Saturday. A number of smaller stores will close Friday.

Banks will adhere to normal hours Friday, but the New York Stock Exchange and other financial markets will be closed.

All federal offices will be closed Friday.

All city offices in Orange County except those in Buena Park, Fullerton and Newport Beach will be closed. Buena Park city offices will be closed Monday instead.

There will be regular Postal Service delivery Friday. However, service windows will be open Friday only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following post offices:

- Anaheim Main Office, 701 N. Loara St.

- Newport Beach Main Office, 1133 Camelback St.

- Laguna Niguel, 29911 Niguel Road.

- San Juan Capistrano, 28081 Marguerite Parkway.

- Fullerton Main Post Office, 1350 E. Chapman Ave.

- Santa Ana General Mail Facility, 3101 W. Sunflower Ave.

- North Grand Station, 2201 N. Grand Ave., Santa Ana

- Westminster Main Office, 13761 Golden West St.

There will be no mail delivery Saturday, except for special delivery and express mail.
