Redondo Beach : Horrell Is Mayor Pro Tem
Kay Horrell was elected mayor pro tem by a unanimous vote of the City Council this week.
The one-year position is largely ceremonial. The only responsibility is to preside over meetings when the mayor is absent. Unlike the mayor, the mayor pro tem does not have veto power over council actions.
Horrell, who represents District 2, replaces Ronald Cawdrey as mayor pro tem.
