A 75-year-old Reseda woman, the passenger in a car driven by her son, died early Saturday after a collision with a Jeep at a traffic light in Reseda, police said.

Chamiram Childbachian was pronounced dead of internal injuries at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she and her son were taken, said Los Angeles Police Officer Lee Holloman.

The woman’s son, Viaroujean Childbachian, a 43-year-old automobile mechanic who lived with his mother, was treated for a broken right leg.

The driver of the Jeep, Larry Troth, 32, escaped injury, Holloman said. Troth, a Reseda computer programmer, was traveling west on Valerio Street when his Jeep crashed into the right side of the Childbachians’ car, which was traveling south on Etiwanda Avenue.

One of the vehicles in the residential neighborhood apparently ran a red light, but both drivers insisted they had a green light, and police could not immediately determine who was at fault, Holloman said.
