Valley Center
California Department of Forestry firefighters found the burned remains of a woman at a Valley Center home after they extinguished a fire that engulfed the house Monday, officials reported.
The woman’s name was being withheld until her family could be notified, according to Sgt. Conrad Grace of the San Diego County Sheriff’s department.
Investigators also found the remains of six small dogs near the woman’s body.
Firefighters were called to the rural residence near Lake Wohlford Resort at 4:24 a.m., Grace said.
