Huntington Park : Budget Carries 5% Pay Raise

The Huntington Park City Council has approved a $30.2-million budget for 1987-88 that provides the same level of civic services as last year and includes a 5% pay increase for city employees that took effect July 1, said Donald L. Jeffers, chief administrative officer.
The budget anticipates that the city will receive $30.2 million during the fiscal year, which started July 1 and ends June 30, 1988. The budget anticipates spending about $25 million and contains reserves of about $6 million, including a general-fund reserve of $3.1 million, Jeffers said.
The general fund pays for essential city services, including police and fire protection. The city ran on a $30.2-million budget last year, Jeffers said.
“It’s a very similar budget,” he said. “It’s a status quo budget providing the same level of services and programs as in the prior (budget).”
