Buena Park : Giokaris Is Named High School Principal

George Giokaris has been named the new principal of Buena Park High School, the Fullerton Joint Union High School District announced this week.

He succeeds Jim Bremer, who resigned in June to join a family business.

Giokaris, 36, has been assistant principal at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton since 1983. Before that, he was an instructor for nine years at Buena Park High, where he taught German, social science, health, physical education and English as a second language. He was also head track coach for four years and athletic director for five years at the school.

Giokaris has a bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University and a master’s degree in counseling and psychology from Cal State Fullerton.

He and his wife, Nancy, and two children live in Whittier.
