WE’RE TALKING A HOT TICKET HERE

Despite the sudden and unexpected cool weather accompanying Madonna’s arrival in Anaheim tonight, her concert remains an exceptionally hot ticket.

A spot survey of Southland ticket agencies found tickets for the sold-out show selling for a low of $35 (for general admission in the stadium’s permanent seating) to as high as $250 for good reserved seats on the playing field closest to the stage. Originally, all reserved and general admission tickets sold for $22.50.

“I have nothing left; I was completely sold out over a week ago,” Mike Mejia, owner of Executive Tickets in Irvine, said Friday.

“Right now I’d have to say this is the hottest show going. . . . I’d say our calls today are three-to-one asking for Madonna tickets.”

Mejia said before his ticket supply was exhausted, tickets “within the first couple of rows” had sold for $250 each.

A spokesman at Ticket Time agency in Tustin said that firm recently sold some seventh-row tickets for $150 each. “It’s been pretty busy. We’ve sold a lot in the last two days.”

Another ticket agency employee who asked not to be identified said: “About 90% of our calls are for Madonna. We had some reserved seats for $150, but they were way back. There’s nothing up front left.”

Because of the scarcity of available tickets, Mejia said fans are no longer concerned about getting good seats. “A few weeks ago, people weren’t interested in buying general admission seats. Now they just want to get in.”
