Gov. Deukmejian’s Cuts on Health and School Funds

Share

Once upon a time, in the state of California, there was a governor named Scrooge McDuke who was so stingy that he took the fifth wealthiest nation-state in the world and made it the 47th lowest state in expenditure per citizen on health and education.

Still, he gave back taxes to the rich and punished the poor. He was so good at what he did that they changed the name of his state to Parsimonia and pronounced him Duke of Yuppiedom.

Because his renown spread far and wide, he was eventually asked to become leader of all the states to replace Ronald the Spender, making the whole country safe for those who have no children, are not old and sick, or who have already gone to school. And the country was thereafter known as the kingdom of Unlimited Selfishness and Avarice.
