Defenseman Wayne McBean, the Kings’ top selection in the National Hockey League draft, agreed to a multiyear contract. McBean, 18, was the fourth player chosen in the draft after leading his junior team, the Medicine Hat Tigers, to the 1987 Memorial Cup championship.
