. . . The Hollywood Reporter announced that as a part of its tribute to Michael Caine, the Montreal World Film Festival would be presenting the world premiere of Lorimar’s “The Fourth Protocol,” based on the Frederick Forsyth novel. Is London not part of the world. Is it chopped liver? The movie has already bowed in London, where it’s sold $400,000 in tickets since late March.

. . . Seems like a case of “the lost ushers” at a showing of “The Lost Boys” at the Vogue in Hollywood. Three front-row teen-age brats screamed obscenities throughout the movie (with some of the audience howling back). No ushers intervened, no manager was to be found. “This particular movie has been attracting that kind of behavior,” explained Chuck Allen, a district manager for Mann Theaters, “but there’s not a whole lot we can do about it.”

. . . The current US proclaims Kevin Costner “the sexiest man in the movies.” So how come Elvis Presley--and not the sexy Mr. Costner--is on the mag’s cover? Editor Anthea Disney said, “Well, Elvis has more immediacy. If you’ve got Elvis, nothing’s going to top him.”
