A Huntington Beach Police Department motorcycle officer was struck by a hit-and-run driver near Bolsa Chica State Beach. Although the officer’s official condition was not yet known, “it doesn’t appear to be serious,” Sgt. Gary Meza said. The officer’s name was being withheld until his family could be notified. The officer was struck on the southbound side of Pacific Coast Highway at about 9:15 p.m., Meza said. It was not known whether the officer was on or off his motorcycle when he was hit.
