Norwalk : Meeting Dates to Change
The Norwalk City Council will soon change its meeting schedule from alternate Mondays to alternate Tuesdays.
Approved earlier this summer by council members, the switch was made for several reasons, said Gary Brackle, community affairs officer. The Monday schedule conflicted with national holidays and meetings of the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District board. Meeting on the second day of the work week, rather than the first, will give the council and city staff members more time to prepare.
Although the new meeting dates go into effect the middle of this month, the Pope’s Los Angeles visit already has prompted a change in the changed schedule. To allow council members to attend papal activities, the council will meet Wednesday, Sept. 16. Thereafter it will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
