A San Francisco man who wears tattoos of a pig and a pair of dice flew into a rage when a panhandler asked him for a quarter, screamed “You bum, I’m not going to give you any money,” then stabbed him to death with a butcher knife, police said. The victim, Frank Stewart, 59, a Tenderloin transient, approached a man--identified by police as Gary A. Dodson, 48--to ask for 25 cents. As he did, police said, Dodson shouted at him, then pulled a butcher knife and stabbed Stewart several times in the chest and stomach. Stewart staggered across the street, collapsing in front of a bar. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The killer ran off, but police said they identified him through witness accounts of his unusual tattoos and were searching for him.
