Los Angeles police said the accident occurred after two cars began drag racing on Glenoaks.

“They were racing up the street, passing on both sides of cars,” said Sgt. Bob Farkas of the Los Angeles Police Department. “One of the dead was one of the drag racers. The other was an innocent bystander that got driven into.”

Farkas said the second car involved in the race was also involved in the crash, and the driver was injured. The extent of his injuries were not available.
