Orange County Community College Roundup : Rancho Santiago Men, OCC Women Finish First

The Rancho Santiago College men’s team scored 87 points to win the Fresno Invitational cross-country meet Saturday at Woodward Park. West Valley (95) was second, followed by Santa Rosa (129) and Orange Coast (154).
Jim Sorensen, a sophomore from Villa Park High School, placed 12th in 20 minutes 37 seconds over the four-mile course to lead the Dons.
Orange Coast won the women’s team competition. Tracy Wright finished fourth for the Pirates, covering the 5,000-meter course in 19:27. Debbie Lies (19:27) was eighth and Candice Hasen (20:03) was 17th.
In men’s soccer:
Cypress 4, Palomar 0--Adrian Rosescu, Eric Schwandt, Mike Pagan and William Montgomery scored in the Chargers’ nonconference opener at Cypress. Palomar fell to 0-2.
