The Old Globe, the La Jolla Playhouse and the San Diego Repertory Theatre won 51 out of 70 nominations for the fourth annual San Diego Critics Circle Awards, it was announced Monday. Winners of the 14 awards will be named Oct. 25.

The Globe’s current staging of “There’s One in Every Marriage” earned six nominations, tying it with the La Jolla Playhouse’s New York-bound “A Walk in the Woods” for the most nominations for a play.

Old Globe associate artist Kandis Chappell, nominated for best supporting actress for “There’s One in Every Marriage,” also garnered a nomination for best actress for “Intimate Exchanges,” another Old Globe production, marking the first time the Critics Circle has nominated anyone in two categories in the same year.
