DWP Worker From West Hills Electrocuted
A Los Angeles Department of Water and Power employee from West Hills was electrocuted while doing maintenance work on a transformer bank in the Lincoln Heights area, a department spokesman said Sunday.
David Tetrizi, 28, a three-month employee of the department, was killed at 11 a.m. Saturday while working on the transformer bank near Pasadena Avenue and Avenue 23, said spokesman Marc Haefele.
Tetrizi, a line mechanic, was electrocuted when he touched a 4,800-volt line while making routine maintenance repairs, Haefele said.
Tetrizi was transported to UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The accident is under investigation, Haefele said.
