SDSU Scores Late to Beat Portland in Soccer, 3-2

SAN DIEGO — San Diego State scored three late goals to defeat the University of Portland, 3-2, in a men’s nonconference soccer match Tuesday at San Diego.
The Aztecs (8-3) took the lead when Eric Wynalda centered the ball from the left side and Kyle Whittemore kicked the game-winning goal with seven minutes remaining.
With 20 minutes to play, Pete Klaass scored from the left side, and Girardo Jimenez tied the score with a bicycle kick from eight yards with 10 minutes left.
Portland fell to 4-3.
