Three juveniles and two adults have been arrested in connection with 23 burglaries--22 in Spring Valley and one in El Cajon--and possession of stolen property worth about $35,000, said a spokesman for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in Lemon Grove.

Deputy Dave Stafford said Friday that a 16-year-old Spring Valley resident who lived with two adults in a car was arrested Tuesday on 23 counts of burglary and one count of possession of stolen property.

“After the ringleader was arrested, he pointed out the 23 houses he ripped off,” Stafford said.

Fiona Denise Ranieri, 18, of San Diego, and David Michael Straw, 19, of El Cajon, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.

A 17- and 11-year-old Spring Valley brothers were also arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Stafford said sheriff’s detectives received information from neighbors of burglary victims and a crime prevention specialist that led to the house where the 17-year-old and his brother lived and kept some of the stolen property.

Of the 23 burglaries, only nine were reported to authorities, Stafford said. He said the suspects took mostly cash and jewelry and entered houses through open or unlocked windows. Detectives recovered about $1,000 worth of the stolen property, he said.
