SEGERSTROM PICKED FOR ARTS AWARD
C.J. Segerstrom & Sons is one of two California businesses that will receive a 1987 national Business in the Arts Award today for its outstanding support of the arts.
Additionally, the Costa Mesa-based development company will receive one of three special achievement awards created to honor the 20th anniversary of the New York-based arts committee.
The awards, which are presented jointly by Business Committee for the Arts Inc. and Forbes Magazine, are given out annually on the recommendation of an independent panel of judges. To date 454 American businesses located in 186 cities and 44 states have won the awards.
Segerstrom & Sons is one of 43 American businesses receiving awards today. The company has received recognition from the national organization in 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985.
Today’s award is the company’s second Distinguished Achievement Award from the national committee. The other award to a California business went to the Pacific Telesis Group, based in San Francisco.
