The victory gave Annacone a spot in today’s semifinals against top-ranked Ivan Lendl.

McEnroe defeated Sweden’s Mikael Pernfors, 6-2, 6-3, while Connors beat Ulf Stenlund, 6-0, 6-1. Earlier, Lendl downed Miloslav Mecir, 6-0, 6-4.
