Frank Tate, a 2-1 underdog, floored Michael Olajide Jr. twice and won the vacant International Boxing Federation middleweight title with a 15-round unanimous decision Saturday at Las Vegas.

Tate, 23, became the fourth member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic team to win a world championship since turning professional. The others are Evander Holyfield, Virgil Hill and Mark Breland.

In command the entire fight, Tate (21-0) knocked down Olajide (23-1) in the 11th and 12th rounds.
