Orange : Brandishing a Toy Gun Is Now a Misdemeanor
The City Council has passed an ordinance, effective immediately, making it a misdemeanor to brandish a toy gun.
The county has a similar law, and a statewide law will take effect in January, City Clerk Marilyn Jensen said.
Growing concern over toy guns that appear real, advice from the county counsel, and some local incidents prompted the urgency ordinance which passed Tuesday, according to Orange Police Sgt. Timm Browne.
