The Chicago Cubs sent outfielder Chico Walker to the Angels in exchange for right-handed pitcher Todd Fischer.
Walker, 29, split last season between the Cubs and their Triple-A affiliate in Iowa. In 47 games with Chicago, he batted .200, with 7 runs batted in and 11 stolen bases. Fischer, 27, spent the 1987 season with Triple-A Edmonton of the Pacific Coast League, compiling a 5-6 record with a 6.85 earned-run average in 31 games, all in relief.
