Bowie Breaks Leg Again--in Same Place--Before Exhibition
Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. —
Sam Bowie, Portland Trail Blazers center, broke his right leg Saturday night in warmups before the team’s first exhibition game.
The 7-foot 1-inch Bowie, trying to come back after breaking the same leg last year, was carried from the court at Memorial Coliseum by his teammates and taken to a Willamette Falls Hospital, where X-rays disclosed the break.
A team spokesman said Bowie suffered a partial fracture of his right shin at the same spot where it was broken last year.
