7 Years Would Be Bad Luck, So Con Asks for 8

SAN ANTONIO —
A convicted burglar told the judge seven was his unlucky number, so the judge gave him an eight-year prison term.
David Gaitan, 22, initially was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison for a June 23 burglary. “He said seven was an unlucky number and asked for eight,” presiding state District Judge David Berchelmann explained. The judge obliged.
