Earthquake victims eligible for assistance from the special state aid package signed by Gov. George Deukmejian Saturday must register with FEMA by the Dec. 7 deadline. Those already registered with FEMA do not have to register again, Raudebaugh said. So far, 23,730 people have formally requested assistance, officials said.
