Three title fights--two for World Boxing Assn....
Three title fights--two for World Boxing Assn. and one for World Boxing Council crowns--will be held in Italian cities during the next three months, matchmakers said in Milan.
The first, on Dec. 19 for the WBA super-featherweight crown, will match defending champion Brian Mitchell of South Africa against Italian challenger Salvatore Curcetti at a Sicilian site to be chosen.
WBC super-welterweight champion Gianfranco Rosi of Italy will stage the first defense of his title against American Duane Thomas in the port city of Genoa Jan. 3.
Zairean-born Italian Sumbu Kalambay, the newly crowned WBA middleweight champion, will fight American Mike McCallum in the Riviera resort of San Remo early in March. McCallum is an unbeaten world junior-middleweight champion who is trying to step up.
