Hilburn’s article is among the most inane that I have ever read in Calendar.
Does he truly believe that a popularity poll conducted among the same folks who really care how many buckles Michael Jackson wears will influence millions of English speakers on six continents to change their vocabularies?
Or is this just a ruse so that Hilburn could get Bruce Springsteen’s name in print on a slow news day?
