George Harrison is proving that at least one Beatle can still record hits. His “Cloud Nine” is headed for heaven--the Top 10, that is. It has powered its way to No. 18 in just three weeks. Whitney Houston’s “Whitney” has just passed the 5-million-units-sold milestone. Pop singles: Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” is now the top single; fast-rising “Seasons Change” (No. 39) could be another Top-10 hit for Expose.

* Dokken’s new album of old-fashioned, bone-rattling metal, “Back for the Attack,” debuted at No. 23 on the pop chart. Singer Don Dokken and Co., heavy-metal veterans who have been missing the gravy train with each album, may have finally boarded it.
