Local News in Brief : 3 Traffic Deaths Reported

At least three people were killed on Los Angeles roads between Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon, the first day of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Two people were killed in Malibu Thursday when their car collided head-on with another automobile on Las Virgenes Road. The identities of the two victims were not immediately available, but police said their car had Georgia license plates. Three people in the other car were seriously injured, including a 15-year-old boy.
In a separate incident, Zaruhi Javabirgian, 60, of Los Angeles was crossing the street at Franklin Avenue and Gramercy Place about 7:25 p.m. when she was hit by a truck and killed. Los Angeles Police Officer Manny Belmonte said the truck’s driver, Thomas Hammerschmidt, 32, was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
